One weekend I was having the best weekend a four year old could have.

I went to the amusement park, went riding on my favorite bike, and I got a new

toy! At night, I started to have a few cookies and a cup of apple juice. After a

midnight snack I fell asleep. Minutes later my eyes shot open faster than a bullet.

I only tasted the dryness of my mouth. The whole room was silent. I couldn’t feel my back on my bed. I only smelled the midnight snack I ate earlier. “What is happening to me and why is this happening to me”? I shouted.

As the sun rose my sister woke up. I immediately went to her. “The weirdest thing happened to me last night” I exclaimed. “What happened” she said patiently. I told her how I levitated. I asked her if it happened to her also. She answered in a way that I would had expected. She said yes. I thought I had super powers and I told all of my friends what happened. All of them thought I was crazy and called me a freak. One person walked up to me and told me I was not a freak. Only a real friend would stand up for you no matter what. After that I found out who my true friend really was. The next day I did not even look at my so called friends. They tried to make fun of me by thinking of new names but

I tried my best to just ignore them because if I let them get to me then I would get in trouble along with them and I wasn’t about to let them get me in trouble for something they started. At night, I had another midnight snack. Next I had a dream that instead of levitating, I was actually flying feeling nothing but the wind on my face and the sun on my cheeks. After a few days of dreaming I started to have nightmares that had to do with the people who were making fun of me. Those same people were hitting me and trying to start fights.

After awhile I started to ignore them because I realized that some people will like you and some people will not. After all, part of growing up is dealing with challenges. Only the people who love you will stick by you.
