KAPPA IV Memoir - Mr. Almanzar

One pleasant day in a California hotel, I woke up rubbing my eyes and yawning. When I saw the clock it was 6:30 am. So I got up went to brush my teeth. Then I saw the calendar and it was marked DISNEY LAND. I ran with excitement to my mom’s hotel room and pounded as hard as I could at the door. My mom opened the door and said “What you want”.  I screamed “DISNEY LAND”. “Alright go tell mama”. I hopped to my granma’s room and knocked on the door. Gordo opened the door and my grandma asked “Que quieres mi hija?” and my step grandfather said, “I know its Sunday” “uhuh!” I replied. “What you mean uhuh?” he replied. I got frustrated so I screamed “DISNEY LAND”. He laughed and replied, “I know. I just wanted you to get mad. Go wake up Jose, Kirk, Viviana and your mom”. “Allright” I responded.

So I went to my uncle Jose first and knocked on his door normally. I made my voice deep and said “room service!”. He opened the door and I saw him tired rubbing his eyes. He did not look at me but he left the door open. So I stepped in and closed the door. I saw sleeping in one bed and Kirk was sleeping in the other bed. I jumped on my uncle Jose and he just started laughing. And we had a pillow fight. By accident we threw a pillow at Kirk. Kirk got frustrated and threw his pillow back at us. Then I said, “ time out.” Then they said, “ what happened? Its time for us to get ready. Then Kirk said “ for what?”. “DISNEY LAND” I screamed. Jose and Kirk together said, “Oh!”. I laughed and left the room.

Next, I decided to wake up my aunt but I was worried that she might not want to go. So, I trusted myself and went to her room. I opened the door with my key and I saw her in her bed sleeping heavenly. So, I walked slowly to her and tapped her. She woke up smiling and said, “you thought I would forget a day so special to us?” So I said, “get ready!” I got my clothes and I went to knock on my moms room. I told my mom to get ready. So I left her room and went to take a shower. When I came out, my aunt was ready. I got dressed and walked to my grandmothers room. I opened the door and told her that I was ready. I saw that she was ready too.

Then we left the hotel and got in the car. We drove through traffic and arrived at this magical place called DISNEY LAND. I opened the door and ran out. Everybody else took their time. I said, “hurry up!”. They hurried and we got to the entrance. We paid and went to take pictures. We saw many characters and took pictures with them. We also got their autographs. But I was getting frustrated, I thought we were never going to see Tinkerbell. I kept asking them if we could look for TInkerbell. So my aunt told me “be patient!” Until I saw this beautiful character named Tinkerbell. I knew that magical things will appear if you be patient. I took a picture and got her autograph. Then I rubbed it on my aunts face. That was the most extravagant moment out of the whole day. After we saw her, we went to eat and saw the parade. And to my surprise Tinkerbell was there too. We left to the hotel  and I noticed that that was the most beautiful day of my life.
