                                     THE TERRIBLE ARM

By Paul

In New Jersey Paterson, when I was five years old I was bored watching TV. Then my mom was telling me to go to the store with her. I got dressed and went outside running. My mom said “Don’t run or you are going to get hurt.” I didn’t pay attention to her but then I lost control of my speed. Then I noticed that my leg was going to backwards and I was flying in the air. After that, I swung my arm into the cement. It hurt so much that I thought a tiger scratched me over and over. My mom saw me. She was too tired by the look in her eyes. She ran and tried to pick me up. But I fell out of her arms when she tried to pick up. My arm was in pain and I started to cry.
From the morning to the afternoon, I was still crying when my cousin noticed and  said, “Hey. What happened to Paul? Why is he still crying?”. My godfather said” Paul broke his arm in the morning’. I still felt the pain from my arm. It felt worst than ever. “We got to get him to the hospital. He has critically damage on his arm”, he said. ”Your right. He has to go right now before something else happens”. I couldn’t hear what they said because my arm hurt and I still didn’t hear any Spanish yet.

They wrapped my arm with a blanket so the arm had less pain. But I still cried. We were in the hospital and then the pain came back. But I was holding the paid inside of me. When then the doctor said “Paul your up next”. I couldn’t walk because my stupid arm. When I least expected my godfather picked me up by the arm and carry me to the doctor room. When they spoke, my eyes moved in slow motion. Then my eyes closed but my ears were shut down too. Then everything shut down.

In the next morning, I woke up. I woke up and I fell asleep. I was trying to move but the pain was still there in my arm. After that, my mom knew that I was awake. And my aunt was there to pick me up to go to another hospital. But when I did not notice is that there was something rough in my arm. When I looked down to my arm, I saw there was a cast on me. I told my mom, “what is this?”. She said, “ It is a cast”. After that my aunt said, we have to hurry up to go the hospital before we are late. I  tried to pick myself up and then the pain stopped a little bit. We went to the car and then I wanted to hear some music to calm myself down. I told my mom how many days was I asleep. She said, “just one day”. I was shocked. When we got to the hospital, it was silent. Mostly I was inpatient. Finally they called my name. I went to the doctors room and said how many days do I have to wear that cast. The doctor said, “for two weeks because it has to heal”.

My lesson learned was never to disobey your parents.
